    Problem: The mouse buttons do not work. Solution: Change the mouse driver to Standard PS/2 Port Mouse, and then reinstall IBM PS/2 TrackPoint. Problem: When you take action to return from standby mode, the computer display remains blank. Solution: Check whether an external monitor was disconnected while the computer was in standby mode.

    Problem: The hard disk drive does not work. Solution: In the startup menu in IBM BIOS Setup Utility, make sure that there is no exclamation point ! to the left of the hard disk drive. If there is such a mark, the hard disk drive is disabled.

    Close the ThinkPad Configuration program and start it again. (This is a temporary recovery.) Bluetooth problem Problem: Your Bluetooth is not functional and ″IBM Integrated Bluetooth″ has a yellow mark in Device Manager under Windows XP. Solution: 1. Turn Bluetooth power on by pressing Bluetooth power switch 2.

Make sure that the startup sequence in the IBM BIOS Setup Utility is set so that the computer starts from the device you want. Also make sure that the device from which the computer starts is enabled by checking that there is no ! mark preceding the device name.
