WARNING: The Adjustable Switch Bar (USAB-1) must ONLY be used with the Under Seat Alarm (USA-1). The Switch Bar will not
function properly with any other alarm. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CONNECT ANY OTHER ALARM TO THE ADJUSTABLE SWITCH BAR.

A Phillips head screwdriver is included to complete
assembly.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
• PLEASE NOTE: YOU DO NOT NEED TO LOOSEN
OR REMOVE WHEELCHAIR SEAT TO INSTALL
SYSTEM.
• TURN WHEELCHAIR UPSIDE DOWN AND
INSTALL SYSTEM FROM BACK OF WHEELCHAIR
I. SWITCH BAR INSTALLATION
1. Center mounting brackets on both sides of top wheel
chair frame bars under seat as pictured below. Note:
Mounting brackets will "snap" into place by pushing
top of mounting bracket down towards the frame bar.
Insert screws into mounting brackets and attach wing
nuts on the inside of mounting brackets as pictured
below. Do not fully tighten wing nuts at this point as
you will be adjusting the mounting brackets in steps 2
and 3 below.

2. Please note the switch bar is spring loaded to
accommodate wheelchair widths from 18"-24".
Make certain you have control of the spring loaded
action of the switch bar at all times. Carefully
compress the spring loaded switch bar and insert
switch bar ends into top slots of mounting brackets
on both sides. Using both hands push the mounting
brackets on both sides into switch bar ends for a
secure fit.
3. Tighten wing nuts and screws with a Phillips head
screwdriver to affix switch bar securely in place as
pictured below.
Affix alarm holder
securely to the lower
frame in back of
wheelchair out of sight
and reach of resident.
Simply wrap the Velcro
®
strap with the rubberized
non-slip backing around
the wheelchair frame.
Holder placement should
be accessible to staff as
pictured to the right.
