- Page 3 Introduction Figure 1: SPD Types - NEC® Article 285 & UL 1449-4 Thank you for choosing a Siemens TPS3 09 Surge Protective Device (SPD). It is a high quality, high energy surge suppressor designed to protect sensitive equipment from damaging transient overvoltages.
