    FAMILIARIZATION THE RECEIVER The digital satellite receiver has 2 Common Interface slots. The front panel gives you the control over the basic functions. The rear panel gives you various connections to connect the audio and video equipment as well as a terrestrial and dish antenna. Ventilation slots in the housing are provided for cooling of the internal electronics.

EchoStar provides software updates Over-The-Air (OTA) which means that you can upgrade your system via the satellite. If you are not able to receive the satellite/transponder, you always can upgrade the software through the SERIAL PORT (RS232) at the rear of the receiver and the downloaded software from the EchoStar website.
  • Page 27 Note that the menu is dynamic which means that it changes with the type of CI-module and related smart card inserted. The menus for CI-module 1 and 2 are identical, therefore only an example for CI-module 1 is shown.     Note that this page can show differently for other CI-modules and related smart cards. EchoStar has no control over the information provided by the related service provider, therefor no specific information is given. The mode and selection menu gives access to the current list, related features and on-screen help lines.

    The EPG information is not always available. Sometimes the service provider (who sends the EPG information) supplies only the program name, the now/next infor- mation or sometimes nothing at all. EchoStar has no influence on this matter. Make sure the local time is set otherwise you can not view EPG information because it needs the correct time (Refer to the Local Time menu).
