    Setting up Follow these steps to get your Diverse 2016 ready for use. Warning For the handset use only approved nickel- cadmium (NiCad) rechargeable batteries. Never use other batteries or conventional alkaline batteries. They could lead to a short circuit or destroy the battery casing.

    1 Connect the power cable Plug the power cable into the power socket on the underside of your Diverse 2016. The power cable connector is coloured red. Please take care that the telephone cord and power cable plugs are connected to the correct socket as incorrect placement could damage the base station.
  • Page 10 If you do not have a modern phone socket, call fone 0800 Free and ask for a BT engineer to come and fit the correct socket. This is a chargeable service. WARNING It is recommended that the line cord is not connected until the handset is fully charged.

    Caller Display Caller Display lets you know who’s calling without lifting the handset. With BT’s Caller Display service, your Diverse base station receives caller information which is transmitted over the BT network. This includes the date and time the call is received, and in most cases, the caller’s phone number.
