Do I need the Interphone to pair to my mobile if I just want to use intercom mode? 17. Is there any other style of speaker/microphone unit available for the Interphone? 18.
  • Page 3 12. I am having trouble pairing a second phone. What can I do? 13. How can I stay near the Interphone but not have calls diverted through it? 14. My phone says “Bluetooth Module not found”. What can I do? 15.
  • Page 4 2. How does the Interphone use Bluetooth technology? Bluetooth is used to send and receive voice signals over radio waves between your mobile phone and the Interphone or between 2 Interphones in intercom mode. It allows the Interphone to control phone calls on your mobile phone remotely.
  • Page 5 10. Can I use the Interphone to listen to music on my mobile? Some mobiles that use the Handsfree profile are able to send music to the Interphone, but it will be a mono signal and will sound a bit like an AM radio. 11. How often should I charge my Interphone? The battery will last for about 700 hrs on standby and much longer if the Interphone is turned off in between uses.
  • Page 6 16. Do I need to pair the interphone to a mobile phone if I just want to use intercom mode? No. You don’t need to pair the Interphone to a mobile; you can use the interphone as just an intercom system if you wish.
  • Page 7 (mainly older) Bluetooth enabled phones, as most new phones have better security. 3. Can somebody else take control of my Interphone if they are in range? No. The Interphone can only connect to previously paired devices that have been authorised. The Pairing procedure creates an encrypted key known only to the two devices paired.
  • Page 8 Check if there are any such devices in the surroundings, and if so keep the distance between the Interphone and such devices to at least 5 - 10m. Usually, any interference will only cause a slight crackling sound. The frequency of Bluetooth is much higher than that of radio station bands.
  • Page 9 1. How do I re-connect my Interphone to my mobile? Switch the Interphone on by pressing the MFB on the main unit. If your phone doesn’t auto connect with the Interphone, press the MFB again to reconnect to your phone. If pressing the MFB button starts voice dialling on your phone, simply press the MFB again to cancel voice dialling.
  • Page 10 13. How can I stay near the Interphone but not have calls diverted through it? The Interphone will remain connected within a range of 10 metres so if you are staying near the device but want to take calls through the phone simply switch the Interphone off.
