manual provides the Excalibur installation and setup procedures only. Refer to the Excalibur Operating Instructions Manual,

    AD5500 SYSTEM DESCRIPTION The AD5500 Excalibur Graphical System Manager provides a user-friendly operator interface for monitoring activity and alarms at security areas under surveillance of American Dynamics CCTV Matrix Switching Systems. The Excalibur system allows the user to define surveillance areas to be observed and to provide user-selected icons or symbols representing the key security resources at the surveillance area.

Excalibur System Setup is the program that defines system data used by Excalibur and its related modules. This includes defining directories for data and program files, switcher port setup, operators and passwords, video setup, data logging, and map sequences.

  • Page 15 AD5500 SYSTEM SETUP MENUS Set Directory Menu The System Setup program defines the directories that contain the program files and the data files for all other Excalibur functions. The data file directory must be defined before other data is entered by any setup functions, and before any map images are created and saved by the Excalibur CAD program.

  • Page 35 AD5500 Fill Menu The Fill menu allows the user to select the current fill pattern for drawing objects (ellipses, boxes, and polygons) and for editing existing objects. When “Fill” is selected, a Fill Style dialog box is displayed showing examples of the fill patterns.

    AD5500 Style, Fill, or Color After selecting an object, edit the style, fill, or color by selecting the “Style”, “Fill”, or “Draw Color” menu function. The same dialog boxes appear that are used to set the current line style, fill, or color (pages 4-6 and 4-7).

The Excalibur Icon Setup program provides user setup for the American Dynamics alarm interface module and the icons that reference alarms and switcher actions. This program allows the attributes for each icon to be defined, such as a specific camera icon calling a specified surveillance camera.

    AD5500 Gate Class Gate Class icons are used to open or close gates or overhead doors at the surveillance site. The gate is controlled by Receiver auxiliary relays, and these relays MUST be set for momentary contacts. The relays are pulsed for 1 second.
