Cause/Remedy
• The quality of the sub screen picture may be deteriorated depending on the
combination of the input signals.
• This is due to strong light reflecting off both the TV screen and reflections
coming from behind the screens.
• Position your TV away from strong ambient light or sunlight, or lower any
ambient lights.
Cause/Remedy
• Press 2 +/– or % (Mute).
• Check that "Speaker" is set to "On" in the "Sound" menu (page 30).
• See the "Picture noise (dotted lines or stripes)" cause/remedy on page 51.
• "Mono" is selected. Set to "Auto" by pressing A/B (page 19).
• Check to see if the volume level is too low.
• Switch "Steady Sound" between "On" and "Off" in the "Sound" menu
(page 29).
• The stereo reception setting is inappropriate. Press A/B until "Auto" appears
on the screen (page 19).
• The antenna connection is loose or the antenna cable is damaged. Check the
cable and connection on the TV, VCR, and on the wall (page 14).
• Adjust the antenna direction for the minimum interference. Contact a Sony
dealer for advice.
• Signal transmission is low. Try using a booster. Otherwise, use the fine
tuning ("Fine") function (page 33).
• The broadcast signal has a transmission problem. Press A/B until a better
sound is heard (page 19).
• Check the connection of the audio cable (page 40).
Cause/Remedy
• Check to see if the Sleep Timer function is activated (page 39).
• If the inside of TV becomes too warm, the TV automatically switches to
standby mode. Check to ensure the ventilation slots are not blocked or
clogged with dust.
• Select "Video Label" in the "Setup" menu and cancel "Skip" of the input
source (page 36).
• The TV was set to the standby mode by the Power Management function
(page 36). Select a channel.
