    WITCH The EZ Switch 10/100 SMC-EZ1024FDT and SMC-EZ1016FDT are 24/16-port Fast Ethernet switches. They have one slot on the rear panel for a fiber optic uplink module with one 100BASE-FX (SC, ST, MTRJ or VF-45) type port. The 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX ports deliver dedicated 10/100 Mbps links to each attached LAN segment.

    The fiber modules are shown in the figure below. When you connect fiber cable to a 100 Mbps module on the switch, be sure you use an SC, ST, MTRJ or VF-45 type connector, depending on the module. When inserting the cable, be sure the tab on the plug clicks into position to ensure that it is properly seated.
