The SpeedCharge Model SCF-6000A, Fully Automatic Battery Charger/Tester and Engine Starter, offers features to accommodate the needs for home or light commer- cial use. This manual will explain how to use the SpeedCharge safely and effectively.

    USING YOUR ENGINE STARTER OVERVIEW The 6000A has an engine start function that can be used to jump start your vehicle if the battery is low by providing 60 amps of current to assist engine cranking. STARTING SEQUENCE There are a few basic steps involved when using the engine start function.

    USING YOUR BATTERY CHARGER OVERVIEW Using the SpeedCharge battery charger is very simple. First, connect the battery and AC power following the precautions listed under “OPERATING INSTRUC- TIONS”. Then select the appropriate BATTERY TYPE and CHARGE RATE for your battery. The SpeedCharge will then do everything automatically.

    GENERAL CHARGING NOTES: The unit is designed to control its cooling fan for efficient operation. Consequently, it is normal for the fan to start and stop when maintaining a fully charged battery. The fan does not run in Tester Mode. If the charge mode is changed after charging has started (by pressing the Read this entire manual before using your charger.
