    INSTALLING BATTERIES Your radio is powered by four C batteries. For the longest operation, we recommend alkaline batteries (not supplied), such as Radio Shack Cat. No. 23-551. Follow these steps to install batteries. 1. Press the two latches on the battery com- partment cover and pull it off in the direc- tion of the arrows.
