However, if AC power fails or you unplug the speakerphone, the three AAA backup batteries (not supplied) save stored information. We recom- mend you use alkaline batteries, such as RadioShack Cat.

Remove the stand from the bottom of the phone by pressing and hold- ing in both spring tabs, then gently pulling the wide end of the stand and lifting it off.

The PRIVACY indicator lights and the microphone turns off, but you can still hear the call- ing party.
