    11. Use only a single-outlet surge suppressor that meets all of the specifications described on page 10. To purchase a surge suppressor, see your local PROFORM dealer or call 1-800-806- 3651 and order part number 146148. 12. Failure to use a properly functioning surge suppressor could result in damage to the con- trol system of the treadmill.

    BEFORE YOU BEGIN Thank you for selecting the new PROFORM treadmill. The e35s treadmill combines advanced tech- nology with innovative design to help you get the most from your exercise program in the convenience of your home. And when you’re not exercising, the unique e35s can be folded up, requiring less than half the floor space of other treadmills.

    ASSEMBLY Assembly requires two people. Set the treadmill in a cleared area and remove the packing materials. Do not dispose of the packing materials until assembly is completed. Assembly requires the included allen wrench and your own 7/16” and 9/16” wrenches and Phillips screwdriver.
  • Page 7 Insert the connectors and the excess Wire Harness into the Right Upright (58). With the help of another person, carefully tip the treadmill onto its other side. Attach the Left Upright, the other Base Leg, the left Front Wheel, and the other Base Pads (not shown) as described in steps 1 through 3.
  • Page 8 7a.See the inset drawing. Identify the Right Top Handgrip (53); there are identifying marks inside the Handgrips. Set the Right Top Handgrip on the right Handgrip Post (41). Insert two 1/2” Screws (51) into the two holes in the Handgrip Post indicated by the arrows. Tighten the Screws into the Right Top Handgrip.
  • Page 9 Note: Extra parts may be included. 12. Make sure that all parts are properly tightened before you use the treadmill. Keep the included allen wrench in a secure place. The allen wrench is used to adjust the walking belt (see page 26). To protect the floor or carpet from damage, place a mat under the treadmill.

    (see drawing 1 at the right). To purchase a surge sup- pressor, see your local PROFORM dealer or call 1- 800-806-3651 and order part number 146148. Use only a single-outlet surge suppressor that is UL 1449 listed as a transient voltage surge sup- pressor (TVSS).
  • Page 11 Four certified personal trainer programs are also offered. Each program automatically controls the speed and incline of the treadmill to give you an effec- tive workout. Two heart rate programs are also fea- tured. Each program controls the speed and incline of the treadmill to keep your heart rate near a target level during your workouts.
  • Page 12 Move the on/off switch to the on posi- tion. Stand on the foot rails of the treadmill. Find the clip attached to the key (see the drawing on page 11) and slide the clip onto the waistband of your clothes.

    2. Move your right hand to the position shown and hold the treadmill firmly. Using your left hand, pull the latch knob to the left and hold it. Raise the treadmill until the foot rail is past the latch pin. Slowly release the latch knob. Make sure that the foot rail is securely held by the latch pin.
  • Page 24 HOW TO LOWER THE TREADMILL FOR USE 1. Hold the upper end of the treadmill with your right hand as shown. Using your left hand, pull the latch knob to the left and hold it. Pivot the treadmill down until the frame is past the pin.

    PROBLEM: The power turns off during use SOLUTION: a. Check the circuit breaker located on the treadmill frame near the power cord (see c. above). If the circuit breaker has tripped, wait for five minutes and then press the switch back in.
