  • Page 5 7. Continue to hold in locking lever. This will keep the shaft from turning while tighten- ing the trimmer head. 8. Thread trimmer head onto the shaft in the direction shown on the decal. Tighten un- til secure. 9. Release locking lever.

    TRIMMER LINE ADVANCE The trimmer line will advance approximately 2 in. (5 cm) each time the bottom of the trimmer head is tapped on the ground with the engine running at full throttle. The most efficient line length is the maximum length allowed by the line limiter.Always keep...
  • Page 10 SCALPING -- The scalping technique removes unwanted vegetation down to the ground. Hold the bottom of the trimmer head about 3 in. (8 cm) above the ground and at an angle. Allow the tip of the line to strike the ground around trees, posts, monuments, etc.
