    TYPICAL MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM VENT LENGTHS BGD36CF(G) REAR EXIT For optimum performance, it is recommended that all horizontal runs FIGURE 9 have a 1" rise per foot. When terminating vertically, the vertical rise is a minimum 3 feet and a maximum 40 feet from the centre of the fi replace fl ue outlet. BGD42CF NOTE: When terminating vertically, the restrictor plate W500-0205 must be installed.

As this appearance is not desirable, the vent exit must be restricted using restrictor plate, W500-0205. This reduces the velocity of the exhaust gases, slowing down the fl ame pattern and creating a more traditional appearance.
