California Energy Commission battery charging testing instructions

This telephone is set up to comply with the energy-conserving standards right out of the box. These
instructions are intended for California Energy Commission (CEC) compliance testing only. When the
CEC battery charging testing mode is activated, all telephone functions, except battery charging,
will be disabled.
To activate the CEC battery charging testing mode:
1.
Unplug the telephone base power adapter from the power outlet. Make sure all handsets are
plugged with charged batteries before proceeding.
2.
While you press and hold
the power outlet.
After about 20 seconds, when the In USE light starts flashing, release

then press it again within two seconds.
The process takes up to one minute to complete. When the phone successfully enters the
CEC battery charging testing mode, the In USE light turns off and all handsets display
1.PRESS HS LoC on BS 4 SEC 2.THEn PRESS # on HAnDSET.
When the phone fails to enter this mode, repeat all the steps mentioned above.
noTE: The telephone base will be powered up as normal if you fail to press
within two seconds in Step 3.
To deactivate the CEC battery charging testing mode:
1.
Unplug the telephone base power adapter from the power outlet, then plug it back in. The
telephone base is powered up as normal.
2.
Press and hold

Press # on the handset and the handset displays Registering... Please wait.
4.
The CEC battery charging testing mode will be deactivated when the handset registration
is successful.
HAnDSET LoCAToR, plug the telephone base power adapter back to
HAnDSET LoCAToR on the telephone base until the In USE light turns on.
